So What is “Fat Freezing” or “Cryo-lipolysis”?

Our Cryo-lipolysis system uses powerful but very importantly non-invasive vacuum pressure to gently hold your fat tissue between the cooling induction plates to treat the areas you want gone!
At first for a few moments you will feel a light warm hugging sensation from the vacuum to hold the plates in the exact area being treated. Very shortly afterwards comes a lightly chilled feeling as the Ice Technology takes effect and the fat cells begin to freeze.
Throughout the treatment you feel a slight numb tingling sensation, and all you have to do is sit back and relax for an hour while the “Fat Freezing” machine does its magic.
Your skin and muscles are left in perfect condition with just the fat cells being limited! These dead cells are then metabolised by your liver and removed naturally like all other waste products.
When the machine is removed you can expect slight redness and tenderness for a few days, and that’s it! You will then start to see the amazing results over the next few weeks further improving for a couple of months yet to come!
So what do we do, well first we gently warm up your desired treatment area to encourage your blood and fat to separate. Next we carefully freeze away your fat cells – without the need for high risk invasive surgery!
Our “Fat Freezing” machine uses advanced freezing technology to selectively target and dissolve fat cells through a gradual process, keeping the surrounding tissues intact. When fat cells are exposed to precise cooling, the process of apoptosis over the next month or two gradually reduces the thickness of the fat layer. The cells in the treated area are gently absorbed through by the normal metabolism process of the liver.
Scientists in the 1970s discovered that the subcutaneous layer of fat went through a cell death process when chilled to certain temperatures. It has since been confirmed that fat cells are more susceptible to cold than skin, nerves and muscle, as the liquid in the fat cells is converted into solids at particular low temperatures.
Institute of Aesthetic Medicine in Glasgow, have confirmed initial findings from Dr Darren McKeown research which are extremely exciting and show the procedure to be safe, and deliver proven results of 11% to an astounding 59% fat reduction in just one treatment, with further reductions in subsequent treatments.
A mere 7 seven days after your “Fat Freezing” procedure, the cells start to alter their shape indicating the desired trauma to the cell has commenced. A week later apoptosis is now underway and you will be delighted to notice a slight reduction in your fatty deposits. However to experience the full results of a treatment it can take up to 4 months but as with most non-surgical cosmetic treatments some clients will experience a noticeable reduction within just two weeks!

1. How do I book a treatment?
First off we carry out a telephone consultation to assess if you are a suitable candidate for the treatment, to save you time of visiting us only to be told that you are not suitable. Once we have confirmed we can treat you, we arrange a convenient time for you. On the day a face to face consultation is carried out to ensure your upmost safety and to check for any aspects you may have failed to inform us of.
2. Where does all the fat go?
Fat cells are simply destroyed and dissolved into the body via the lymphatic & immune system.
3. What are the after effects?
The reason cryo-lipolysis has become so popular is not just down to the excellent results it achieves but that there are generally few side effects. No recovery period or downtime. Very rare to have extended redness or bruising post treatment. Combined with you generally are able to resume normal daily activities without discomfort immediately after the session, even possible to have a treatment on your lunch break.
4. How does it take?
Each treatment takes up to 60 minutes per area depending on depth of fat to be treated. Additional time may be required if you require more than one area.
5. How many treatments will I need?
One session is sufficient for most people in most areas. Cryo-lipolysis has the advantage of not usually requiring a course of treatment. However this obviously depends on the amount of fat you would like removed and the amount to begin with.If after one treatment your that happy with the results achieved you want to further improve on this then we do ask that you leave 4 to 8 weeks between treatments.
6. Is it permanent?
The fat cells that will be crystalized through the Cryo-lipolysis procedure are absorbed by the bodies natural processes. Once destroyed the same fat cells can’t grow back.
7. Do I need to exercise afterwards or go on a silly diet?
No diets or intense exercise is needed post treatment. However, Cryo-lipolysis is not a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise. After care includes increasing your water intake, avoid caffeine & other toxins to support your bodies natural processes.
8.Does it hurt?
The treatment for most is completely pain free and comfortable. We even provide you with entertainment during your procedure however clients often fall asleep during their treatment.
9. How long does it take to see results?
This depends on the individual, the fat thickness, and the area treated. Changes happen over a number of weeks, so some patience is required as a natural process is taking place inside your body. Maximum results would be expected between 12 and 16 weeks, however some of our clients begin to see changes after only 2 to 3 weeks.

13. Who can’t be treated?
Cryo-lipolysis is suitable for the majority of people. However we will not treat those pregnant or breastfeeding. We conduct a consultation with you prior to your treatment and certain individuals will need to obtain a letter from their GP to proceed with the treatment in extreme cases.
